About me
With a passion for the arts from an early age, he began his artistic training at the age of sixteen. His first acting classes were under the guidance of Cuban director Noel de la Cruz, followed by acclaimed actress and acting coach Elia Schneider, a teacher at the Stella Adler Institute in Los Angeles. It was through Schneider that he discovered the acting techniques developed by Stella Adler and Sanford Meisner, which would later become the foundation of his artistic practice.
Between 2005 and 2010, he continued his training with some of Venezuela's most respected theatre directors, including Nicolás Curiel, Antonio Cuevas, Daniel Uribe, América Alonso, and Juan José Martín. After earning his law degree, he pursued further studies at the School of Arts of the Central University of Venezuela. In 2006, he participated in El Procedimiento, an acting workshop led by renowned Argentine playwright and director Javier Daulte, and later studied Practical Phonetics in Montevideo with distinguished Uruguayan actor Roberto Fontana.
Throughout his career in Venezuela, he has acted in and directed numerous stage productions, including Contigo, Pan y Cebolla, La Juguetería, Escándalos Personales, Manteca, An Enemy of the People, and Vestuario de Hombres, among others.
In 2011, Escándalos Personales, a production he directed, was recognized by the Venezuelan newspaper El Universal and Claro Magazine as one of the country's best theatrical productions of the year. His work has also earned nominations for several prestigious awards, including the Marco Antonio Ettedgui Award for artistic achievement before the age of 35, the Caracas Municipal Theatre Award, and El Universo del Espectáculo Award.
Between 2015 and 2017, he completed a Master’s degree in Stage Directing at the National School of Theatre Arts of Mexico, where he trained under some of the country’s most prominent theatre makers, including David Olguín, Martín Acosta, Ignacio Escárcega, and Rubén Ortíz. Upon graduation, he received the Academic Merit Award for achieving the highest GPA of his cohort. In Mexico, he has performed in several leading roles as an actor in productions such as Yanga by Jaime Chabaud, The Suit by Peter Brook, Emigrants, and The Policemen by Sławomir Mrożek. As a stage director, he has distinguished himself through his work on the opera The Castle of Bluebeard for UNAM, as well as theatre productions including The Policemen, Marburg, Hamlet in Caracas, Maldito Amor, Against the System, Your Tenderness Molotov, among others. He has received the “Estrella” Award for Best Director for Where Is the Point?, and as a playwright he has been awarded twice for the same work (Where Is the Point? and The Killer) in the “Music” and “Desire” seasons of Micro Teatro Mexico. Both plays also won in the Best Play category. In television, he has worked as an actor since a young age on various productions in Mexico and abroad. More recently, he has appeared in Televisa productions such as The Threads of the Past, The Maleficio, and La Rosa de Guadalupe, among others. He has also stood out in series such as El Chema (Telemundo) and Pancho Villa (Disney). He has toured with Grupo Teatral Emergente to various cities across Mexico, with support from the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the Embassy of Poland in Mexico, presenting Emigrants and introducing audiences to the work of Polish playwright Sławomir Mrożek. These tours also included talks on the value of freedom and democracy, as well as the history of Poland—particularly the period during which the country was under a communist regime in the mid-20th century. Since 2015, he has also worked as an acting and stage directing instructor at La Teatrería Estudio in Mexico City, where he leads an intensive acting seminar.
